A Day (or two) Late, But . . .



Forgive me for not mentioning this at an earlier time.

But upon careful research and in depth examination of the records -- I have come to the discovery that I have been writing this blog for 2 years!! (And BOY, am I tired!)(no??)

There haven't been too many activities that I have maintained for 2 years -  not the least being something that requires fairly regular attention and creativity.  So, in honor of reaching this milestone . . .

Had another day out recently with my dear dear Sister Friend Linda as we engaged in one of our favorite activities - Shopping! 

Outfit for the day - with new "quail color" leggings!

 I had a goal (2 actually, but was happy to accomplish one of them) of adding 2 pair of shoes to my closet.  Not just ANY shoes, either,  CHEAP shoes!  With Payless Shoe Source closing up, we hit 2 different locations as I hunted for a pair of black flats that fit well (unlike my current pair) and a nude pump that isn't a mile high!

I have been trying for almost a year to get used to the old ones, but can  never get past about 20 minutes before needing to bail out!  These new ones feel like walking on pillows! And they were only $2 more (brand new!) than I paid for the old ones (used).  I'm a happy gal!

We enjoyed a cup of coffee, visiting a Christian bookstore that is ALSO closing, and a bit of grocery shopping before heading home.

These days out have been a tonic for me, and I cannot thank ALL my Sister Friends enough for accommodating this old lady.  We're trying to set up a brunch before I have to leave town again (ON BUSINESS! I have to leave town ON BUSINESS) and be separated from these lovely ladies for about 2 months.

  I had a few hours to get out this afternoon, and I was looking forward to it, especially since I don't care two bits about "sports ball".  So I got all dolled up in my best weather appropriate outfit - black tights and pumps, black pencil skirt, hot pink top and 3/4 sleeve jacket.  I added a coat, grabbed my bag and headed out. Absolultley nothing to report initially -- a stop at the ATM, then Dollar Tree (Always Panty Liners pack of 40 for $1.25 - who can resist!), Walmart (needed some make up) and then a snack.  It turns out the closest eattery of my choice (Perkins) is closed!  Gone!! Out and About -- FINALLY!

  After FAR too long of being restricted to dressing for a limited time and only at home, I was able to get out on the town this weekend.  I had some adventures and I will try to keep them interesting (no guarantees, Sweeties). So let's get this show on the road! I started out on Saturday, getting some breakfast at my favorite eattery (for breakfast, that is) They have the BEST breakfast buffet I got to my table, and the server approached me and asked "Coffee AND water?" I told her just coffee, and she said, "I tried to remember. Welcome back." Wow! Service worthy of a good tip. I then went to Costco to pick up half a dozen items, and when I got to the self-checkout my debit card was rejected.  REJECTED?? (I forgot that I had had a call from their Fraud Dept on Friday about a contested charge. It was a false charge, so they apparently put a block on my card.) ~~sigh~~ There is a branch of my credit union not to far away, so off I went to get the situation dealt ...

Down Memory Lane -- In Pumps

Funny how a random comment or reference can trigger a memory. That happened to me this morning.   I was reminded of the Halloween in my Jr year of high school when I decided to be "a hooker" and enlisted the VERY willing help of a female friend, Alice. It was mostly her wardrobe, and I have vague memories of exactly what I was wearing. I went to her house the week prior to select the "costume". She had laid out 4 or 5 dresses for me to try.  The first one was perfect, but that didn't stop me from wanting to try on all the others. Her mother, who was assisting, commented that I was enjoying my little fashion show. Alice supplied the shoes as well - good thing we were the same size - and I told her I'd take care of the undergarments. Our town did a Halloween Parade during the day on Oct 31, and I had "marched" with 2 friends - we were The Marx Brothers handing out candy along the parade route.
