Julie - Out and About

Well, I did it again. I spent a week out of town working on a job during the day and letting Julie out to play during the evening. Those who follow this blog will know I have a bi-annual (semi-annual? twice-a-year annual??) job on the other side of the state. It's a full week - drive over on Monday, work Tuesday thru Thursday, drive back on Friday.  On the plus side, I have my evenings free. On the minus side, I'm  in a small town in Western WA where most everything closes by 8pm. And since I work til 7 . . . (sigh) But I still manage to get Pretty and go out I try to arrive early in the day on Monday so I can hit the Outlet Malls (perhaps the biggest draw) and the thrift shops (at least 3 good ones here). A while ago I started a feature on my FB page -- the "I Love Dressing" Meme Of The Day.  I started collecting them from the Interwebs some time back, but then was challenged to create my own.  Finding photos that were appropriate for the captions was tricky, but I think I managed some successes. I'm always on the lookout for new material, captions, ideas to express in these memes.  So if you have any suggestions . . . ?? Got to spend a week out of town on a job - again. Same little town in Eastern WA, same limited opportunities to get out while dressed, but 2 wonderful events helped set this trip apart from all previous ones. My work day ended by 7PM at the latest - sometimes earlier.  There are only 2 places to go in Chehalis "after hours" -- Denny's and Applebee's.   Tonight I felt like a glass of wine, so . . .  I approached the bar section, which is what I usually do here since interaction with civilians increases when sitting at the bar than in a booth.  I no sooner planted my butt on the stool when I saw a man emerge from the restroom.  A man that I had been working with most of the day! (full disclosure - my job this week has been in male mode and no one involved with it knows of my "after hours" hobby) All it took was looking thru my purse to keep my face slightly hidden from him, and he passed by me without a second look.  Which made me feel both relieve...

Christmas has come and gone, but the memories live on. Here's a photo essay of the highlights. Decorating the tree -- only fell once! Untangling the outside lights -- completed in under 3 hours! The finished product -- and a Christmas sweater. A new hat always makes the season bright. Lounging Asian Style. Not sure if the leggings really compliment this coat, but it's comfy!
