National Nylon Stockings Day! Nylons - pantyhose - a business that would disapear from the face of the earth if it wasn't for crossdressers.  No, I haven't fact checked this statement.  It's just a hunch, based on my informal survey of the average woman on the street.  Nylons seem to be out of favor - even in the dead of winter.  For me, I adore the way they feel on freshly shaved legs. Yummy! I don't wear stockings often, but they can be fun, too! So let's celebrate the day.  Put on a pair of nylons (stockings, "stay-ups", tights, pantyhose) and experience the joy! Stay Safe And Pretty, Sweeties.

How To Pick Up A Perscription While En Femme . . .

Image
Nothing is worse than having to delay/cancel a dressing up session because of a certain errand that you must run.  Picking up my perscription at the drug store is one of them.  I have to identify WHOSE scrip I am wanting, which connects me as that name with the pharmacist.  Well, this week I decided to not worry about it!   I had a full Julie Day ahead of me, and I was going to be in the neighborhood of my pharmacy and I needed to get that scrip.   So, wearing a jean skirt, black tights, black kitten heel booties, a cute top and my Purple Peacoat, I ventured into the drug store about 10 AM on a Thursday.   Hardly a crowd on a Thurs AM I walked boldly up to the counter, and when the pharmacist approached I said, "Ummm - I need to pick up my husband's prescription." --- Cop Out?  Good Cover? You decide.  All I know is it worked.  I got the scrip, didn't have to delay my "Day Of Julie" time, and was in and out before I knew...

Once More Unto The Mall

Image
After WAAAYYYYY too long, Julie finally got to see the light of day again.  Thanks to dear Sister Friend Theresa, it was an outing that was all inside but nearly included an out-ing.  Details . . .  Theresa asked me to go along with her as she was buying new make-up.  Having never experienced the joys of Sephora - and having been inside for the past 4 weeks or so - I jumped at the chance.  I got ready in my best "blend in with the soccer Moms" outfit. Let's hit the Mall! Trying to be prepared for whatever, I wore tights under the leggings in an attempt to stay warm.  And it's a good thing I did because I didn't realize how THIN these leggings are, and with our recent "near single digit temps" it was VERY helpful. Between that and my kitten heel booties, I was ready for the snowy streets. I met her at our large Downtown Mall. She had been there a while doing some other shopping and I caught her as she was finishing her lunch.  So after chatting i...

You Can't Have Too Many Friends

Image
As my Great Aunt Mae used to say, "You can't have too many friends, unless they all want to borrow money." Yesterday I had a wonderful experience - added a new friend to Julie's Circle, a wonderful brunch, AND road tested a new hair style. My dearest BFF Sarah has been after me to add new Sisters to our Sister Friends. She suggested a lovely lady (who is friends with my male side) and after MUCH consideration I finally agreed to the meeting.  While getting ready I had to use my "back up hair". (Long story - maybe for another Blog Post) Deciding on wardrobe is ALWAYS a chore, especially when balancing between making a good first impression and dressing for the weather.  It was a cool and rainy morning, and since I wanted to wear my denim skirt I broke out the tights. I met Sarah at the restaurant and then we greeted new Sister Friend Theresa.   Theresa, Me and Sarah She was so supportive and wonderful and (no surprise) caring. We ate, talked, I answered all...

Girls Just Wanna Go Shopping

Image
Every now and then, you get the uncontrollable desire to do something -- like shrug off all other responsibilities and just go shopping!  Just such a desire overcame me last Saturday morning.  So I bundled myself up cozy and got an early start. I needed an early start, because it took me quite a while to decide on an outfit for the morning. (everyone who is surprised by this, raise your manicured hand!)  My preference is (as always) skirt and hose, or on a chilly morning, tights.  But then my OTHER preference it to blend in - not look like a Guy In A Dress.  So I went with leggings and a pair of comfy kitten heeled boots. First Stop - the Bank! I was determined to ONLY shop for Julie this trip - so I wanted to hit my 2 favorite places. The first was Ross Dress For Less, where I found a bargain on the Clearance Rack. Normally $35, I got it for $7!! Next stop was Dress Barn -- but it was no more! Just an empty store, right next to Wal*Mart. So not wanting t...

Oh There's Good News Tonight!

Image
Great Outing and Good News of an Upcoming Event!   Your correspondent had a wonderful Girls Morning Out recently.  The Sister Friends (Sarah, Linda and Moi) met for coffee, chat, and bonding.  We got into some deep topics and it got emotional and it was WONDERFUL!! Such delightful dames!  Loverly Ladies! Wonderful Women! We talked about life, discussed Trans and cross dressing lifestyles, reminisced on past outings, and truly uplifted and encouraged each other.  I left that gathering literally floating on a cloud of love and support.  Thank you, Sisters. After leaving, I headed out to the grocery store to stock up on . . . groceries. The right mask can make or break an outfit Amazing how a cute outfit can make a seemingly bland task feel SO delightful.  And this outfit is my favorite Casual Gal look - denim skirt, tights (it's getting chilly here) and SO comfy wedge/platform type shoes. The other item - remember my post about my bi-ann...

New Clothes - Same Haunts

Image
4 Days Of Julie (mostly) and it was the same old same old.  But ANY chance to get out and interact with folks while "pretty" is a thrill for your scribe.  So, lots of pics, very little story - but they say one picture IS worth a thousand words, so hold on to your garters, 'cause here we go! Outfit for Night One     In the last 12 months I have lost about 20 pounds, which means most of my wardrobe is in the donation bin.  But this little purple dress was too tight on me.  But NOW . . . !! I was absolutely thrilled to be able to wear it out, even if it was only to dinner by myself.   It was chilly, so I needed a wrap, unfortunately.  On this trip I DID learn that I no longer hesitate when needing to use the Ladies Room.  I now move boldly and quickly (depending on how much I've had to drink).   And I don't fear to  linger at the mirror and make sure my lips are just right. A nice glass of Chardonn...
