It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmases Past (a photo dump)

Image
Putting up decorations for Christmas 2022 makes me nostalgic for Christmases Past.  Here's a look at years long gone by - but please ignore that even though clothing and hair styles changed, the decorations are EXACTLY the same ones! (giggle) C'mon, Santa - Fill 'er Up! Getting Lit Up Elf Fell Off The Shelf "Brrrr!" And to all, a Glam Night May Your Days Be Merry And Bright, Sweeties.

New Post - New Experiment - Same Results?

Image
OK, my last experiment turned in the results I expected. In that, when I post a Photo Essay I get LOTS of views in a brief period of time. Now we come to The Great Experiment Part 2. A post with no photos (well, except for the Banner of my fingers - and if THAT gets your excited response, who am I to judge)(lol)  These past 2 weeks have been fun - I wrapped up 2 major projects that took up most of my free time, which allowed very little time for Julie to get Out and About. But once they were in the history books, I wasted no time in letting my Softer Side breath again.  I had recently "come out" to a male friend who expressed interest in getting together with Julie, so we had a wonderful lunch with good conversation. Since it was Sunday I went in my best black skirt, grey mock turtleneck top, black pumps and grey pantyhose.  He was very comlimentary about my outfit and overall appearance. He runs a local theater and he encouraged me to audition for Lady Macbeth! I h...

Pardon Me While I Boast

Image
As many of you know, I post a daily meme on my Facebook page. I call it "The 'I Love Dressing' Meme Of The Day". These are randomly selected in a rotation of over 200 photos (wow!) and occasionally the Godess of Serendipity steps in and aligns things just right. Like today, for instance. Today's meme was . . . Well, yesterday I met up with a local Sister for the first time. We had been planning this meeting for about 2 weeks and finally got a date and time selected. I was SO excited about it, and of course spent QUITE a lot of time selecting my outfit. She was attending the coffee date in drab due to her schedule for the day, but I wanted to make an impression. Since it was Sunday morning I went with a "I'm on my way to church" ensemble. I even put on pantyhose - in spite of the predicted 90+ degree temps! We met at a Starbucks and after a while we went to a nearby park to continue our conversation. It was a very pleasant get together,...

It's That Time Again . . .

Image
Time for my twice annual (Bi-annual? No, I'm not Bi) week long business trip where Julie can get out each and every night! One of the most difficult parts of this excursion is - as always - selecting what outfits to bring along! I will have 4 nights to enjoy, and of course I need a different outfit for each night. I conducted a poll on my FB page and among my dearest Sister Friends and THESE are the winning ensembles. BTW - the numbers in the upper corners were strictly for voting purposes and have nothing to do with how each outfit ranked. I'm also not sure about the shoes in #10. I'll probably go with the black pumps for this dress - unless YOU think the leopard pumps really work??? This is a brand new dress and this will be it's first outing so I want it to look it's best! Anyway, I am SO looking forward to this trip - doing work I truly enjoy and being pretty each and every evening. A true Win-Win! Stay Safe And Pretty, Sweeties! P.S. - any of you ga...

I Just Gotta Say . . .

Image
I am an actor. This is my passion, has been my profession, and continues to be my reason to move forward.  When I cannot indulge in my craft, many things happen. (not the least being I bore my friends with my complaining about it)  But I had an epiphany this week that I thought I'd share here.  However, since these blogs usually don't get many views without photos . . .  Grey mock turtleneck, new black skirt, black L'eggs, old (and comfy) black pumps From the "Could There Be A Connection" Department - I have not been on stage for FAR too long.  And not from lack of trying, either.  I have really missed out on the opportunity to put on a costume and be someone else. And during this drought (the last play was I did was in early September) I have found that my desire for Julie to get Out And About has increased multi-fold. Teal Leggings (never thought I'd type that phrase) Could this be my life seeking a balance - putting on a cute outfit and "being" s...

Watch What You Say -- (Blog #100!)

Image
Blog #100! And for this entry I've got quite a story.  Out At The Mall  I was out solo, at the main mall downtown Spokane.  I wanted to get dressed up, since most of my previous outings have been in leggings and sneakers.  So I chose my favorite red dress, grey pantyhose and a VERY comfoirtable pair of black pumps.  After walking the mall for a while, I found a shop I'd never seen before, Brow Arc.  My brows are the weakest part of Julie's appearance, so after walking past the door twice, I ventured in.  The technician on duty was very nice, and when I finally got up the gumption to explain what I was looking for (a unisex brow trim) she was very helpful.  The price she quoted was incredibly low, and I was VERY tempted to go for it.  (FOOTNOTE: again, I was alone.  If my Dear Friend/Mama Bear Sarah had been present, I'm sure she would have had me in the chair before I knew it)  I hemmed and hawed and finally said I'd think about it....

Far Too Long Since We've Chatted . . .

Image
Much has happened in the past 6 weeks since my last post. But, then again, not much happened at all. Thanks, Pandemic! I have taken to dressing when and where I can, which usually means getting all pretty to do the grocery shopping . . . . . . or the household chores. The saving grace has been getting together with Sarah and Linda -- The Sister Friends have talked, cried, laughed, and encouraged each other a few times. Each Coffee Date bringing enough mental serenity and uplift to carry me to the next one. If the past year has taught me nothing else, it has shown me that no matter what happens, no matter the trials and hardships, keep moving forward. And do it in great company! Stay Safe and Pretty, Sweeties!

"I STILL Love Dressing" Memes

Image
The most popular entry in this Blog has been, by far and away, the article about my series of posts on my Facebook page called The "I Love Dressing" Meme Of The Day.  In fact, it is SO popular that I am doing something here that I've never done before -- I am posting a sequel! This all started years ago when I was posting memes about crossdressing. I noticed that a lot of them used photos of GG women - seriously? If the topic is CDing, why use GG women?  So, I was challenged to use my own photos. I have put together well over 100 of these thus far, and am still adding new ones. For more of these, check out the previous Blog Entry, "I Love Dressing", or go to my FB page for daily updates! Stay Safe And Pretty, Sweeties!

There But For The Pandemic Go I

Twice a year I take a week long business trip out of town.  An on-air fund raising for a non-profit radio network. I stay at a very nice Holiday Inn (no, that's not a contradiction of terms) and my work schedule is usually 9 to 5.  I get to spend the rest of the time in Julie Mode, away from prying eyes.   So at about this time of year I'd be packing my size 9 1/2 pumps and heading West.  However, under the present circumstances, the job for the spring has been cancelled. I truly enjoy the work part of the trip, but I REALLY miss the evenings.  Going shopping at the many outlet stores in the area, taking in a movie, grabbing a bite to eat.  For a gal just wanting to get "Out And About", it's a wonderful week. Now I'll have to set my sights on this October and hope all this settles down by then.  But I surely do miss it. (sigh) Stay Safe HEALTHY and Pretty, Sweeties!
