. . . Merry Christmas To You All, Sweeties!

A Few Quick Reflections . . .

Today has been a day full of reflecting (which is weird because it all happened between 5 and 7 AM!) Between the random "I Love Dressing" meme that popped up for today . . .  . . . to a memory that popped up on FB . . . " I have always felt that I was simply a man who enjoys women's clothes. I have no desire to transition, I don't feel I am "trapped in a man's body" - I simply enjoy the elements of feminine wardrobe. I have encountered some folk on line who seem to make it their mission in life to tell me that I'm "in hiding", "in denial", or that I'm not "being true to who I really am". How do THEY know who I really am? In this community, why can't we accept people for who they are and not try to make them who we think they should be? ~~sorry, rant is over ~~" . . . to an article in a newsletter I subscribe to . . .  https://feminizationsecrets.com/dos-donts-male-to-female-transformation/  . . . it g...

Just Trying To Keep Up Appearances

Image
I know writing a blog is a discipline - something I need a LOT of help with.  So, even if there has been nothing earth shakingly important to report, I plan to write something at least once a week just to keep my hand in.  So . . . . . here goes. I had some good "me time" this past week, mostly around the house.  Cooking, cleaning, pulling weeds, and like that. It taught me one major lesson -- I can enjoy being en femme in leggings or shorts almost as much as in skirts and heels!  This is something I never would have thought possible a year or so ago, but recent experiences (and influence from my Sisters) has shown me that it's how you feel inside that counts, and since my desire is to walk down the street without people saying, "Hey, that guy is wearing a dress" - the more I can blend in, the better.   How I USED to dress for house cleaning - pearls, 5" heels and all!   But now . . .  I'm VERY comfy like this! ...

Who Are You Wearing?

Feel like a woman. Wear a dress! –  Diane von Furstenberg The question came up the other day -- why do you always wear skirts and not nice slacks or jeans?  Let's examine the answers. I enjoy wearing clothing designated as "women's" or "feminine" for many reasons -- the variety they offer in colors and fabrics, the desire to look pretty, the comfort and relaxation I feel when dressed.  Now, if I was able to walk out my front door simply in a dress and pumps, I would adore it.  But to avoid stares, taunts and possible harm, I add a wig, make up, and "body shaping" foundation garments.  Presenting as a woman (or "passing") makes me feel more comfortable when out, hoping that I can avoid any unwanted confrontations. (and yes, it doesn't always work, but it sure cuts down on the incidents) Ready to hit the town As a result, dresses and skirts help me feel more female than pants.  I can walk out the door in jeans and a t-shir...

Vintage, Thrift, and Great Conversation

Image
Experienced a wonderful day out with Linda today -- we made an afternoon of it.  She picked me up and off we went to the local thrift shops.  I found a VERY cute white dress, a comfy and stretchy material, but it was a tad small.  "Tad"??  I now know how a sausage feels.  I almost had to ask Linda to come help me get out of it! Ah, the curse of being a curvy lady. Linda found a cute skirt and top to go with it.  We then tried on a couple dozen pair of shoes, but as it was with the clothes, I found nothing that fit.  Some wild styles, but I came up bupkis. Saw a pair similar to these, labeled 9 1/2 W.  That's my size -- but they were NOT 9 1/2 W. Drat! So on we went on to our next stop -- a new Vintage Clothing and Accessories Store in my neighborhood.  They have clothes at somewhat reasonable prices, as well as knick knacks and stuff.  Linda found a sun dress for $9, but wanted to try it on.  They have no dressing rooms a...
