It's Been Far Too Long

Image
Usually I have something to write about at least every other week. But as I look here I see my last entry was over 2 months ago!  YIKES! So I feel obligated to write an entry - even though absolutely NOTHING has happened in the past 2 months.  Nothing. Zip. Nada. So, how about a photo dump? And so, until next time . . .

Ooops, I Did It Again

Image
Well, I did it again. I spent a week out of town working on a job during the day and letting Julie out to play during the evening. Those who follow this blog will know I have a bi-annual (semi-annual? twice-a-year annual??) job on the other side of the state. It's a full week - drive over on Monday, work Tuesday thru Thursday, drive back on Friday.  On the plus side, I have my evenings free. On the minus side, I'm  in a small town in Western WA where most everything closes by 8pm. And since I work til 7 . . . (sigh) But I still manage to get Pretty and go out I try to arrive early in the day on Monday so I can hit the Outlet Malls (perhaps the biggest draw) and the thrift shops (at least 3 good ones here). This trip was no exception. Monday Night's Outfit After some shopping, I went to my usual haunt -- Applebee's. Only coming here twice a year for a few days, I am always impressed that the bartenders there - Nerissa and Nicole - know me. On Monday I walked in and Neris...

Time Is Running Out!

Image
OK, that title was a tad melodramatic --- but I just noticed that I haven't posted a new article the entire month of March!  So, in order to rectify that heinous oversight . . .  It's been an interesting month. I found out my job is ending as of March 29th. No full time employment. Same bills to pay but no income. And what is the biggest concern on my mind right now? Having to find a new place to change into Julie Mode! In The Lobby My SO knows of Julie but would rather not be involved, and our son still lives at home with us, so I need a "changing place" outside the home. My office building provided the perfect location, especially on the weekend. A fitness center with shower rooms and lockers.  I could walk into the building as him and walk out as her. With a beautiful view of downtown Access to the building and the upper floors requires a code, and once my employment is terminated I will no longer have a code. What's a girl to do? Honestly though, once I get ...

Watch What You Say -- (Blog #100!)

Image
Blog #100! And for this entry I've got quite a story.  Out At The Mall  I was out solo, at the main mall downtown Spokane.  I wanted to get dressed up, since most of my previous outings have been in leggings and sneakers.  So I chose my favorite red dress, grey pantyhose and a VERY comfoirtable pair of black pumps.  After walking the mall for a while, I found a shop I'd never seen before, Brow Arc.  My brows are the weakest part of Julie's appearance, so after walking past the door twice, I ventured in.  The technician on duty was very nice, and when I finally got up the gumption to explain what I was looking for (a unisex brow trim) she was very helpful.  The price she quoted was incredibly low, and I was VERY tempted to go for it.  (FOOTNOTE: again, I was alone.  If my Dear Friend/Mama Bear Sarah had been present, I'm sure she would have had me in the chair before I knew it)  I hemmed and hawed and finally said I'd think about it....

Playing Hookey

Image
Last Monday, I woke up thinking, "This feels like a good day to stay home from work and just pamper myself."  Now, I have felt that way many times before, but this particular Monday I actually followed through on it!  One phone call later, and I was planning a shopping trip. I chose a casual/dressy look -- skirt and hose but denim skirt and nude, almost undetectible, pantyhose.  In fact, so undetectible that a dear friend saw one of these photos and asked why I was NOT wearing hose. Venturing Out Again I started at a shopping plaza that included TJ Maxx and Target, and eventually ended up at the large Mall on the northside of town.  I realized that I had not been in a mall for over a year, and this one was definitely showing signs of Covid Effect.  But some highlights of the mall were still in operation. Oooooo, Cinnabon! While at the mall, I visited Marshall's and found a fantastic red dress for $10.  In my size!   With a Duster, and witho...

"I STILL Love Dressing" Memes

Image
The most popular entry in this Blog has been, by far and away, the article about my series of posts on my Facebook page called The "I Love Dressing" Meme Of The Day.  In fact, it is SO popular that I am doing something here that I've never done before -- I am posting a sequel! This all started years ago when I was posting memes about crossdressing. I noticed that a lot of them used photos of GG women - seriously? If the topic is CDing, why use GG women?  So, I was challenged to use my own photos. I have put together well over 100 of these thus far, and am still adding new ones. For more of these, check out the previous Blog Entry, "I Love Dressing", or go to my FB page for daily updates! Stay Safe And Pretty, Sweeties!

Looky What I Found!

So, I was digging through some old boxes and envelopes and I discovered 2 Photo CDs from many years back.  It looks like they are my first few times on my "annual business trip" I talked about in a previous post.   (https://juliemshaw.blogspot.com/2020/05/there-but-for-pandemic-go-i.html) These were from 2004 - the first recorded images of Julie Out Of Town.  I don't recall getting up the gumption to leave the motel room, though. And these are labeled 2006 - probably my 3rd trip.  And I know I did get out this time.  Maybe it was the new glasses that gave me the confidence. (giggle) And I know I've said this before - I REALLY miss that red dress!  So soft and comfy. (sigh) So over the years I know many things have changed - my make up skills improved, and my hair style changed a number of times - but the thrill of going out is STILL as exciting as it always has been Stay Safe and Pretty, Sweeties
