It's All In The Name

I was recently asked why I don't write about issues, or opinions, or existential stuff.  Why is my Blog all about the play by play of my travels. Well, just look at the title of the Blog ----- JULIE - OUT AND ABOUT Nuff said. Now, back to our story . . .  Today's excursion was unexciting (especially since I was alone - but I won't harp on THAT any more in this installment) but it did have a highlight. OOD - casual and comfy I needed mascara so I hit CVS. No major interactions with anyone, just in and out. Then to the Mall (yes, I still go to the Mall) for some walking around. I find that, since retiring, I need to get out and walk more. Where better than the Mall. You never know WHO you're going to run into The Mall is open for walking at 9, but the shops don't open until 11. So I did some window shopping - or window TREATMENT shopping. I've been accused of being cheeky, but not like this My soft wear could stand some updating The need for coffee kicked in, so...

2023 In Review

How's this sound - one picture per month from 2023!  Yup, that's what I'm going to attempt -- one picture that sums up an entire month.  Let's get started with, oh I don't know - How about January.  Bringing in the New Year of 2023 in a 1940's style dress. Days were full of work, but nights were on the town. Unfortunately the "town" is very small. By the time I got off work and got dressed the only places still open were Denny's and Applebee's. (I got to know the bartenders at Applebee's very well) A Summer's Afternoon. June brought very nice weather, as well as a very ...

Playing Hookey

Last Monday, I woke up thinking, "This feels like a good day to stay home from work and just pamper myself."  Now, I have felt that way many times before, but this particular Monday I actually followed through on it!  One phone call later, and I was planning a shopping trip. I chose a casual/dressy look -- skirt and hose but denim skirt and nude, almost undetectible, pantyhose.  In fact, so undetectible that a dear friend saw one of these photos and asked why I was NOT wearing hose. Venturing Out Again I started at a shopping plaza that included TJ Maxx and Target, and eventually ended up at the large Mall on the northside of town.  I realized that I had not been in a mall for over a year, and this one was definitely showing signs of Covid Effect.  But some highlights of the mall were still in operation. Oooooo, Cinnabon! While at the mall, I visited Marshall's and found a fantastic red dress for $10.  In my size!   With a Duster, and witho...
