Once More Into The Fray

Image
Let's keep this one short and sweet - because that describes the wonderful walk I took last Sunday morning.  It's the little things that can bring the greatest pleasure - and this was the perfect example.  After many  months of isolation, The Sister Friends hit the trail once again!  Sarah, Linda and I got together for a morning walk around the neighborhood - chatting, catching up, laughing, and just plain enjoying each other once again.   Linda, Sarah and Julie On The Trail Masks On, Masks Off, Sister Time knows no bounds! We walked, sipped coffee, and talked and talked and talked! (something we have ALL been  missing since our last gathering back in . . . I don't even remember when!)  It ended all too soon - and like every good experience, just left us wanting more.   Usually I like to include pix of my outfit, but I neglected to get any full figure shots this day.  Just as well, I was wearing a T-shirt, leggings and sneakers - no...

HIGHLIGHTS OF 2018 This is my 50th blog entry, so I want to take the time to reflect back on the past year. Looking forward to a year full of adventures and opportunities with all my Sister friends - old and new!

3 Days Out - Heavenly!

Image
They said it couldn't be done . . . they said it should never have been attempted . . . they should keep their big mouths shut! Let's cover a marvelous 3 day weekend of Julie in one blog post.  Hold onto your girdles, ladies -- here we go!  Saturday night - The Sister Friends hit the town for dinner and drinks.  We added a new "member" (Welcome To The Sister Friends, Christy!) as well as knocked an item of Julie's Bucket List! Sarah, Julie, Linda, and Christy can all fit into a Size 372 Pump! Since this has been on  my list for almost 5 years, our Staff Photographer (Sarah) insisted on a solo shot, too. Dinner was lovely, and followed by drinks at a martini bar made for a delightful evening with Friends. Sunday - I invited a NEW friend to lunch (Hi Kendra!) along with her spouse. In the interest of privacy we put the cameras away during the meal - but . . . .    I just HAD to snap a few of the proud hostess and the pretty tabl...

Girl's Day In - And Out - And All About

Image
Feeling Pretty  Aaaaaannnd - we're off and running. A full week of Julie started off in the best possible way - a make over session!!  My dear Sister Friend Sarah invited her dear sister (and new Sister Friend) Abbie to my place.  Abbie brought a ton of sample products and she lead the way to new and fresh looks for us both - eyes, brows, lips and attitudes! Abbie (center) and her students Of course, once you look pretty you have to do something about it.  So we decided to go downtown to shop, eat, drink, and sing.  That meant I had to change - and experience another first for me. Being July, Sarah insisted that wearing pantyhose would not only be uncomfortable but would say to other women that I was not one of them.  So I ventured out bare legged for the first time, and felt rather naked! 😏 We started at a vintage clothing shop, browsing through lots of fashion from the 60's to the 00's (that doesn't look right, but you get what I mean), b...

Dinner And An Eclipse

Image
Friends are people who enjoy getting together just to get together.  A nice meal, good wine - those are extras.  When friends get together and share what's been going on in their lives - the ups AND the downs - and they all are genuinely concerned about and for one another, THAT is friendship. Sunday night I invited Sarah and Linda over for a home cooked Chinese meal.  It had been a month or more since we'd been together, so we had a bit of catching up to do.   Sarah brought the wine And Linda brought the cheesecake We enjoyed a nice Chicken Stir Fry meal (even if I do say so myself! ~~giggle~~) and lots of girl talk.  We talked together, ate together, and prayed together. All in all, a WONDERFUL evening that ended too soon. (Unfortunately, the effects of the wine and cheesecake DIDN'T end too soon.) The next morning was Aug 21st - Eclipse Day.  I busied myself around the house while waiting for the event. Here in Spokane we experienced ...

Sister Friends - Day 4 (a very LONG day)

Image
Here's to the Ladies Who PARTY! So, on to Day 4 - the Highlight of the week.  Linda and I drove over to Coeur d'Alene and indulged in a little shopping (surprise!) before meeting Sarah at the hotel.  We checked in, got primped a bit, and then walked down the street to dinner. Henry's Angels (you'll understand later) We settled in at Tomato Street, a fun place where they let you draw on the table - well, on the paper they PUT on the table.   Waiting for our 4th Sarah's significant other, Henry, joined us for dinner.  Sarah commemorated the event on the table top. Henry, Sarah, Linda and Julie After a fine meal, we returned to the hotel and got dolled up for some dancing at a local club.  Looking back, I think I was overdressed for the location, but who cares!  I felt pretty, Oh so pretty. We arrived a bit after 9 PM and the place was rather quiet.  The DJ was hard at work, but we were the only ones there.  We decided to star...
