Oh There's Good News Tonight!

Image
Great Outing and Good News of an Upcoming Event!   Your correspondent had a wonderful Girls Morning Out recently.  The Sister Friends (Sarah, Linda and Moi) met for coffee, chat, and bonding.  We got into some deep topics and it got emotional and it was WONDERFUL!! Such delightful dames!  Loverly Ladies! Wonderful Women! We talked about life, discussed Trans and cross dressing lifestyles, reminisced on past outings, and truly uplifted and encouraged each other.  I left that gathering literally floating on a cloud of love and support.  Thank you, Sisters. After leaving, I headed out to the grocery store to stock up on . . . groceries. The right mask can make or break an outfit Amazing how a cute outfit can make a seemingly bland task feel SO delightful.  And this outfit is my favorite Casual Gal look - denim skirt, tights (it's getting chilly here) and SO comfy wedge/platform type shoes. The other item - remember my post about my bi-ann...

I Love Dressing Meme Of The Day

Image
A while ago I started a feature on my FB page -- the "I Love Dressing" Meme Of The Day.  I started collecting them from the Interwebs some time back, but then was challenged to create my own.  Finding photos that were appropriate for the captions was tricky, but I think I managed some successes. I'm always on the lookout for new material, captions, ideas to express in these memes.  So if you have any suggestions . . . ?? During these troubles times, my usual sign off seems more pressing than ever . . .  Stay Safe And Pretty, Sweeties

About Being Out Some More

Image
Let's see, now where was I?? Oh yeah - Day 4! (aka Day Final) Another late day at the job, so after getting back to the hotel, selecting the outfit for the evening, and getting the make up "just right", I was relegated to the only options available.   Ready to hit the exciting .. . well, the quiet streets   I first went to Denny's to get something sweet to eat.  The waitress, Kellie, was a dear.  She gave me a great suggestion - cheesecake with yummy strawberries!  It really hit the spot.  And Kellie was so nice and accepting.  After hitting the Ladies Room to freshen up my lips, I headed out to my next stop. Wal*Mart!!  This particular store seemed to be having a clearance sale in Jewelry, and I'm always on the look out for rings.  Only problem, their selection of Size 10 was EXTREMELY limited.  In fact, all they had was one Wedding Set in silver.  (my preference is gold)   Since I ...

Just Trying To Keep Up Appearances

Image
I know writing a blog is a discipline - something I need a LOT of help with.  So, even if there has been nothing earth shakingly important to report, I plan to write something at least once a week just to keep my hand in.  So . . . . . here goes. I had some good "me time" this past week, mostly around the house.  Cooking, cleaning, pulling weeds, and like that. It taught me one major lesson -- I can enjoy being en femme in leggings or shorts almost as much as in skirts and heels!  This is something I never would have thought possible a year or so ago, but recent experiences (and influence from my Sisters) has shown me that it's how you feel inside that counts, and since my desire is to walk down the street without people saying, "Hey, that guy is wearing a dress" - the more I can blend in, the better.   How I USED to dress for house cleaning - pearls, 5" heels and all!   But now . . .  I'm VERY comfy like this! ...

Merry Christmas To All --

Image
Christmas has come and gone, but the memories live on. Here's a photo essay of the highlights. Decorating the tree -- only fell once! Untangling the outside lights -- completed in under 3 hours! The finished product -- and a Christmas sweater. A new hat always makes the season bright. Lounging Asian Style. Not sure if the leggings really compliment this coat, but it's comfy! Now, ready for a Happy New Year!  Stay safe and pretty in 2018, Sweeties!

Living Up To The Name

Since this blog is called "Julie - Out And About", I thought I'd better get out and about more.  Or else I'm going to run out of material pretty quick! Well, today I was presented with just such an opportunity.   Due to plans being shifted, I ended up with the entire day to myself.  I decided to take advantage of the two major plus factors of the day - free time, and warm(er) weather.  (It's been rather chilly lately - almost as if we bypassed autumn and flew right into winter) So I got dressed in a very cute outfit (if I do say so myself) and hit the neighborhood shops. Started out like this - learned my lesson After deciding the skirt and Mary Jane shoes were more cute than functional, I  returned home and changed for a walk down by the river.  I'm not usually a "Nature Girl", but I enjoy reveling in God's Creation every now and then.  So I dressed for the experience . . .  . . . and headed out! The river walk was qu...

The Eternal Struggle - Preference or Perspiring

Image
I have an event coming up in mid-July - a Day Out with the Girls.  Being the very organized (read "obsessive") gal that I am, I have already started planning my wardrobe.  And this brings me to the big question: Do I wear what I WANT to wear, or do I wear what will fit in with the circumstances and places I will be? Now, when I say "wear what I want" I don't mean that I'd be sporting formal silks and pumps for a picnic at the lake.  Contrary to popular belief, I'm not a fool. But my personal preference DOES run to hose and heels.  July, however, is more shorts and sandals kind of weather, and I have yet to venture out of the house with bare legs.  The other problem here is that I have a VERY mediterranean heritage -- which means my arms, shoulders and back are rather . . . . well, you know.  My life circumstances make it difficult to remove that much body hair, so I usually just wear long sleeves and stuff.  But will I survive (let alone Be Comfortab...
