The Drought Is Over, And I'm Still Thirsty

Image
My outfit on Jan 2! To help you catch up - I was working on the road from October 18 thru January 1. Due to the circumstances of the job, Julie stayed at home for that time. It was he longest "forced pause" I've ever experienced, and after 2 weeks I started feeling it. I got home on New Years Day, and wasted little time in getting my silks and satins out of storage. I also got to work planning a Sister Friends gathering. (Footnote - the name Sister Friends was coined for our group many years ago. Since then, the membership has grown and changed)  The appointed day for our Brunch Reunion was approaching, so I got to the task at hand - selecting an outfit. This is usually us - and I am always the one on the right! So I started going through the closet to pick out my wardrobe. Feminine but not too fancy, girly but not to frilly, something I haven't been able to wear for the past 3 months. This is what I went with Three of us carpooled to the restaurant, meeting the new...

Fitting A Whole Week Into One Post

Image
I did my bi-annual business trip across the state for a week of daytime work and nighttime fun!  The weather co-operated (chilly) so I could wear my favorite dress. I managed to get out a few nights to my usual watering hole - Applebee's. The ladies behind the bar are ALWAYS welcoming. In fact, I no sooner sat down the first night when Narissa came up to me and shared photos of her son (now 4 years old!)  Next night I did more of the same. And then -- ooops, I did it again! But a bit more casual this evening. It's always both an enjoyable and frustrating time - enjoyable for obvious reasons, and frustrating because I'm all alone.  (sigh) Maybe next time . . .  Until next entry - as always - Stay Safe And Pretty, Sweeties!

Here's To The Ladies Who Dine

Image
I recently went to dinner with a new Sister Friend, Theresa. It was our first Girls Night with just the 2 of us, and it was SO much fun. She has been a friend for a few years to my guy side, but was recently introduced to Julie.  The first " fun" part of the evening was Getting Ready. I work (in guy mode) until 5:30pm and we had wante d to get an early start, so I packed a ”Julie Bag” and brought it to the office. We have a gym in the building, so I dropped the bag off in a locker when I arrived in the morning. Now, I had to get changed in the Men’s Locker Room (at 5:30 there are still quite a few folks wandering the halls and our office is RIGHT next to the Women's Locker Room/Restroom). So after work I ventured into the Men's, got my bag and went into one of the private shower rooms. We had decided on casual attire (even though I REALLY prefer skirts and dresses) so I was in leggings, a dusty rose t-shirt top, and a maroon duster. (pantyhose and booties, too) After...

Catching Up - Both Us And You

Image
It's been a while since I last wrote here - but that doesn't mean I've been idle.  It  means my #%@!*# computer has been acting up!  But here I am, back at the keyboard and ready to tell all! (well, to tell MOST. After all, I'm not an idiot!) (giggle) The 3 Sister-teers! Having time to spend with my SISTER FRIENDS is always something to write about - and when there's drama involved it makes it more interesting.   (Now don't get all excited - not THAT kind of drama!) We had planned a Galentines Day breakfast at my place, but being as we live in Spokane WA, the morning of the event saw a fresh dropping of 3 - 6 inches of new snow.  We plowed ahead (pun intended) with the plan, but Sister Sarah just plumb couldn't make it due to being snowed in.  So Sister Linda and I raised a glass of mimosas in her memory. Clink a glass of "loaded OJ" We planned another, but Sister Sarah was out of town -- out of the COUNTRY actually.  So Sister L...
