GDO - SWFL Edition






Welllllllll --  while on a work trip to Southwest Florida, an unusual thing occurred.  Julie showed up!

This was a "drab" work trip, but I attended a Femme Fantasy Birthday Party while there. (see blog entries "Hitting 60 (Posts)" and "Hitting 60 (Posts) Photo Update")

My Party Outfit

It was there that I got to talk with Jennie about who Julie is, and she jumped at the chance to help out.  We met one night for a late supper and talked about a night out.  It took a while, but we were finally able to do a Day Out.  Lunch and The Mall.  

Florida means sandals means pedicure!

PLUS she recruited 2 others to join us, also attendees of The Party - Erica (the gymnast!) and James (the fuzzy guy) (check the Photo Update for details).

 We went to a lovely Asian restaurant, with an all you can eat lunch special. And we ate MORE than we should have.  Then off to the mall to try and walk some of it off!

Poor James had to tag along as these 3 ladies shopped.  But he was a trooper - even found a bargain on bathing suits for himself!

Fun day, but as usual it ended too soon.  ~sigh~  But it was a day to cherish and remember.

  I had a few hours to get out this afternoon, and I was looking forward to it, especially since I don't care two bits about "sports ball".  So I got all dolled up in my best weather appropriate outfit - black tights and pumps, black pencil skirt, hot pink top and 3/4 sleeve jacket.  I added a coat, grabbed my bag and headed out. Absolultley nothing to report initially -- a stop at the ATM, then Dollar Tree (Always Panty Liners pack of 40 for $1.25 - who can resist!), Walmart (needed some make up) and then a snack.  It turns out the closest eattery of my choice (Perkins) is closed!  Gone!! Out and About -- FINALLY!

  After FAR too long of being restricted to dressing for a limited time and only at home, I was able to get out on the town this weekend.  I had some adventures and I will try to keep them interesting (no guarantees, Sweeties). So let's get this show on the road! I started out on Saturday, getting some breakfast at my favorite eattery (for breakfast, that is) They have the BEST breakfast buffet I got to my table, and the server approached me and asked "Coffee AND water?" I told her just coffee, and she said, "I tried to remember. Welcome back." Wow! Service worthy of a good tip. I then went to Costco to pick up half a dozen items, and when I got to the self-checkout my debit card was rejected.  REJECTED?? (I forgot that I had had a call from their Fraud Dept on Friday about a contested charge. It was a false charge, so they apparently put a block on my card.) ~~sigh~~ There is a branch of my credit union not to far away, so off I went to get the situation dealt ...

Down Memory Lane -- In Pumps

Funny how a random comment or reference can trigger a memory. That happened to me this morning.   I was reminded of the Halloween in my Jr year of high school when I decided to be "a hooker" and enlisted the VERY willing help of a female friend, Alice. It was mostly her wardrobe, and I have vague memories of exactly what I was wearing. I went to her house the week prior to select the "costume". She had laid out 4 or 5 dresses for me to try.  The first one was perfect, but that didn't stop me from wanting to try on all the others. Her mother, who was assisting, commented that I was enjoying my little fashion show. Alice supplied the shoes as well - good thing we were the same size - and I told her I'd take care of the undergarments. Our town did a Halloween Parade during the day on Oct 31, and I had "marched" with 2 friends - we were The Marx Brothers handing out candy along the parade route.
