Sharing The Good Stuff

I don't follow a lot of Blogs, but there's one that I have to check every morning - and that is Femulate.

Stana recently posted a marvelous article that posits the never ending question - Why Do I Crossdress? You can read the entire article here (http://www.femulate.org/2026/07/why-do-i-crossdress.html#comment-form) but I offer some excerpts as to the reasons why.

Emotional release: Dressing can reduce stress and create a sense of calm, freedom, or escape.

A fuller sense of self: Some feel that their feminine side is a genuine part of their personality rather than a costume.

Pleasure in fashion and beauty: Women’s clothing offers more variety in color, shape, texture, accessories, hairstyles, and makeup.

Confidence or affirmation: Being seen and treated as a woman—even temporarily—can feel validating and exciting.

Exploration: Crossdressing can help someone examine gender roles, identity, appearance, or how society treats men and women.

Sexual excitement: For some, especially early on, there is an erotic component. For many, this decreases or becomes less central over time.

Performance or play: Theater, drag, humor, costume events, and role-playing can also be motivations.

As I read this article, I tried to place MY motivation to dress in one of these catagories. Imagine my surprise when I realized that I fit into EVERY catagory. Now I know some of you won't find that to be true in your own life - like the "Performance" category. (once a Ham, always a Ham) But knowing some of the motivations often helps coming to grips with a practice that society still looks on as odd, unusual, sick, perverted - all words I have heard in relation to crossdressing.

Mood got too heavy - here's a pretty photo!

In my younger days, this question nagged at me constantly. I knew no one else who dressed, so why did I? This list would have helped me immensely back then, and I hope it helps someone today. And sharing this article (please read it in full) is part of my mission to be a help, an assistant, and a guide to those who are just realizing they enjoy dressing. You're not alone, my friends - a statement that would have given me some comfort way back in the pre-internet days.

Stay Safe And Pretty (and Informed), Sweeties.
