3 Days Out - Heavenly!




They said it couldn't be done . . . they said it should never have been attempted . . . they should keep their big mouths shut!

Let's cover a marvelous 3 day weekend of Julie in one blog post.  Hold onto your girdles, ladies -- here we go! 


Saturday night - The Sister Friends hit the town for dinner and drinks.  We added a new "member" (Welcome To The Sister Friends, Christy!) as well as knocked an item of Julie's Bucket List!

Sarah, Julie, Linda, and Christy can all fit into a Size 372 Pump!

Since this has been on  my list for almost 5 years, our Staff Photographer (Sarah) insisted on a solo shot, too.


Dinner was lovely, and followed by drinks at a martini bar made for a delightful evening with Friends.

Sunday - I invited a NEW friend to lunch (Hi Kendra!) along with her spouse. In the interest of privacy we put the cameras away during the meal - but . . . . 

 


I just HAD to snap a few of the proud hostess and the pretty table she set!





Delightful dinner - great conversation - and Kendra got to go out during the day.  Win Win!

That evening, Linda and I headed downtown for a treat -- ice cream at Ben and Jerry's!!


Due to bus schedules, it had to be an early evening.  But it was - as always - an enjoyable one.

Monday - Errands.  On the bus . . .

 . . . to Starbucks . . . 



 . . . all the while having the feeling that I was being followed.



 AFTER THOUGHTS -- as always, 3 days "out" made the next 5 days "in" feel very confining.  Even if I could still dress, it's not the same as being out with friends.  Ah well, baby steps must precede full trot.

Down Memory Lane -- In Pumps

Funny how a random comment or reference can trigger a memory. That happened to me this morning.   I was reminded of the Halloween in my Jr year of high school when I decided to be "a hooker" and enlisted the VERY willing help of a female friend, Alice. It was mostly her wardrobe, and I have vague memories of exactly what I was wearing. I went to her house the week prior to select the "costume". She had laid out 4 or 5 dresses for me to try.  The first one was perfect, but that didn't stop me from wanting to try on all the others. Her mother, who was assisting, commented that I was enjoying my little fashion show. Alice supplied the shoes as well - good thing we were the same size - and I told her I'd take care of the undergarments. Our town did a Halloween Parade during the day on Oct 31, and I had "marched" with 2 friends - we were The Marx Brothers handing out candy along the parade route. Blog Entey #130! - Where Everbody Wants To Know Your Name

  Blog Entry #130 - who-da thunk it!  I don't think I've done 130 of many other things, but here I am - Blog #130.  Feel free to look back and enjoy any of the previous 129 articles, I know I will. But for now, here we go . . .  I was able to get out last week (finally!) for a few hours. I planned some shopping, both necessities and clothes browsing.  I also planned to end the evening at Applebee's for a glass of wine and a snack.   I questioned the purple with the red, but I think it works I managed to NOT buy anything (other than the necssities) so I was REALLY looking forward to the wine. I pulled into Applebee's parking lot and it was packed. Honestly, when I see that, my first reaction is to NOT go in. Too many people, too many opportunities for being "read". Brief Encounter - Lasting Impression

  OK - have to share this story because I'm still not sure how I feel about it. I was on my lunch break the other day (I work in drab) and popped into Mod Pizza. There in line in front of me was a young couple - I'm guessing early 20's. And she was . . . a Julie. I first noticed that her red shoulder length hair was too perfect, She was wearing a pretty floral dress (even downtown during the work day, a little over dressed) fucia sling back pumps and a matching fucia wrist bag, and a nice tan top coat over it all. She caught my attention, so I observed closely. Her voice was pitched high, but maybe too high. Her hands were not large, but borderline "man hands". I took the step and complimented her on her cute bag. She looked at me (mask on) and said Thank You. Her eyes were smiling, but I could tell her brows were not being taken care of.
