Julie - Out and About

I was away on business for 2 months - from cold Spokane WA to Sunny Florida!!  The up side was that, due to a change in diet (salads and veggies galore) and much more exercise than I usually get, (I was in a show that required a LOT of dance/movement) I lost 10 pounds.  (Squeee!) The down side --- I was greeted by 3 feet of snow with more in the forecast for the next 4 days! C'mon!!!!! Ah well, after shoveling out the front walk (AGAIN!) I tried on some things that were getting a tad tight over the past 12 months.  Glad to say 2 skirts fit much better now. (my go to black pencil skirt and my tan LL Bean skort) Sad to say one skirt is now too big to wear! (my super comfy jean skirt! ~sigh~ ) Oh well, as a wise person once said, we must take the bitter with the batter. Feeling better   Feeling prettier And more confident, too! HIGHLIGHTS OF 2018 This is my 50th blog entry, so I want to take the time to reflect back on the past year. Looking forward to a year full of adventures and opportunities with all my Sister friends - old and new!

They said it couldn't be done . . . they said it should never have been attempted . . . they should keep their big mouths shut! Let's cover a marvelous 3 day weekend of Julie in one blog post.  Hold onto your girdles, ladies -- here we go!  Saturday night - The Sister Friends hit the town for dinner and drinks.  We added a new "member" (Welcome To The Sister Friends, Christy!) as well as knocked an item of Julie's Bucket List! Sarah, Julie, Linda, and Christy can all fit into a Size 372 Pump! Since this has been on  my list for almost 5 years, our Staff Photographer (Sarah) insisted on a solo shot, too. Dinner was lovely, and followed by drinks at a martini bar made for a delightful evening with Friends. Sunday - I invited a NEW friend to lunch (Hi Kendra!) along with her spouse. OK - it's been far too long, so here's all the rest of the week!! (Pardon any typing errorrrrss.) The rest of the week simply consisted of me going shopping and eating.  **Photo Essay!!** Headed Out for a drink Nails Are Perfect (better than the fingers) New Outfit -- New Day.  Going Down.   You can always count on Walmart for late night shopping.   OK - this dress IS going to be worn outside a room sometime in my life.  I just don't feel confident enough to wear it outside -- yet. Persecution: a program or campaign to drive away or subjugate people based on their religious, social, or ethnic group - Webster (Which is often in the eye of the beholder - Julie) As I prepared to go out on night two of my out of town excursion, I decided to wear one of the items I picked up yesterday at the Hanes/Bali Outlet Store.  They had a clearance rack that was an eclectic mix of lingerie and active wear, and after scouring it carefully I found a pair of leggings in my size AND a fun color. More fun than Basic Black I had a later start this evening due to working until 7, which meant my options for location were few.  I was peckish, so I went to my stand by spot, Denny's.  The Waitress, Christine, greeted me warmly and seated me.  She was smiling and friendly -- but I wondered about her choice of location. I recently spent a week out of town on business -- well, 5 days -- 3 days if you don't count the 2 days of driving there and back -- but definitely 4 nights!  And that's what I'm here to talk about. I arrived, checked in with my employer, got to my hotel and started cleaning up -- all before 5PM.  This is important because this community is famous for their Outlet Malls. Yes, you read that right -- mall S . As in more than one.  Only problem is that they all close up about 8:00.  When working here I usually don't finish until after 7, which doesn't allow any time to change and hit the stores.  So I always try to get here early on Day 1 so Night 1 can be a Fun 1.
