On The Bar Stool Again, Gee It's Great To Be On The Bar Stool Again

What's harder than typing with long nails? Keeping Impress Press-On Nails on your thumbs! I have been impressed with the press on nails from Impress. (rightly so, you'd think) In all the years I have been wearing them (7? 10? 13?) I have only ever had one drop off.  One. O-N-E! Until this week.   The difficult thing about these (and ANY) press on's is the thumbs.  Male thumbs are bigger than female, so they don't offer nails that actually fit my gargantuan thumbs.  In a pack of 30 there are usually 2 that work, another 2 that MIGHT work, and that's it.  Well, this past week I was out on Monday night after work and by 9PM I had managed to lose both thumb nails.  Both. B-O-T-H! Thankfully I wasn't trying to impress (there it is again) anyone, and Mikie the Bartender was very kind about it.  She is one of three bartenders at the Applebee's in Chehalis WA that have welcomed me with open arms on my last 3 trips to this tiny town. Tomboy or Juliegirl?

Image
As many of you may know, I have a daily feature on my FB page -- The "I Love Dressing" Meme Of The Day. There are over 120 (thus far) that I rotate through.  All are photos of myself with captions I have discovered (stolen!) from various sources. Today's entry is . . .  It got me thinking, how true IS that comparison? When a young girl acts "masculine", she is called a Tomboy.  But not much else happens.  When a young boy acts "feminine" -- whoa! The Dictionary says a tomboy is “an energetic, sometimes boisterous girl whose behavior and pursuits, especially in games and sports, are considered more typical of boys than of girls”.  But since there is no equivalent word for boys, we can’t compare them clinically. What are YOU looking at? Am I just taking a simplistic look at being a feminine male, or is there something to this “Juliegirl” idea?  The world may never know. Stay Safe and Pretty, Sweeties

Here's To The Ladies Who Dine

Image
I recently went to dinner with a new Sister Friend, Theresa. It was our first Girls Night with just the 2 of us, and it was SO much fun. She has been a friend for a few years to my guy side, but was recently introduced to Julie.  The first " fun" part of the evening was Getting Ready. I work (in guy mode) until 5:30pm and we had wante d to get an early start, so I packed a ”Julie Bag” and brought it to the office. We have a gym in the building, so I dropped the bag off in a locker when I arrived in the morning. Now, I had to get changed in the Men’s Locker Room (at 5:30 there are still quite a few folks wandering the halls and our office is RIGHT next to the Women's Locker Room/Restroom). So after work I ventured into the Men's, got my bag and went into one of the private shower rooms. We had decided on casual attire (even though I REALLY prefer skirts and dresses) so I was in leggings, a dusty rose t-shirt top, and a maroon duster. (pantyhose and booties, too) After...

I LOVE DRESSING For The Third Time!

Image
I've been at this Blog Thing for quite a while now. 4 years to be exact. 4 years and 6 months to be VERY specific.  And in all that time, the post that has received the largest number of views was my first "I Love Dressing" article. (well over 750 views and counting)  The sequel - "I STILL Love Dressing" - has done well, too.  So I thought I'd complete the trilogy now with "I Love Dressing For The 3rd Time" So sit back, relax, and enjoy a few more entries from my daily Facebook Feature, "The I Love Dressing Meme Of The Day" Main Observation - I really like purple! Check out my FB Page for the daily entries in this series. Stay Safe And Pretty Sweeties

You Can't Have Too Many Friends

Image
As my Great Aunt Mae used to say, "You can't have too many friends, unless they all want to borrow money." Yesterday I had a wonderful experience - added a new friend to Julie's Circle, a wonderful brunch, AND road tested a new hair style. My dearest BFF Sarah has been after me to add new Sisters to our Sister Friends. She suggested a lovely lady (who is friends with my male side) and after MUCH consideration I finally agreed to the meeting.  While getting ready I had to use my "back up hair". (Long story - maybe for another Blog Post) Deciding on wardrobe is ALWAYS a chore, especially when balancing between making a good first impression and dressing for the weather.  It was a cool and rainy morning, and since I wanted to wear my denim skirt I broke out the tights. I met Sarah at the restaurant and then we greeted new Sister Friend Theresa.   Theresa, Me and Sarah She was so supportive and wonderful and (no surprise) caring. We ate, talked, I answered all...

A Few Quick Refletions . . .

Image
Today has been a day full of reflecting (which is weird because it all happened between 5 and 7 AM!) Between the random "I Love Dressing" meme that popped up for today . . .  . . . to a memory that popped up on FB . . . " I have always felt that I was simply a man who enjoys women's clothes. I have no desire to transition, I don't feel I am "trapped in a man's body" - I simply enjoy the elements of feminine wardrobe. I have encountered some folk on line who seem to make it their mission in life to tell me that I'm "in hiding", "in denial", or that I'm not "being true to who I really am". How do THEY know who I really am? In this community, why can't we accept people for who they are and not try to make them who we think they should be? ~~sorry, rant is over ~~" . . . to an article in a newsletter I subscribe to . . .  https://feminizationsecrets.com/dos-donts-male-to-female-transformation/  . . . it g...

Look Who I Almost Bumped Into

Image
I have been out the last 2 afternoon/evenings solo — visiting a local casino, a restaurant, and a few shops – and it got me thinking about past “Close Calls”. You know, those times when you were out dressed to the nines and saw a friend or work associate who doesn’t know about your “softer side”. I have faced that close call a few times, but it was usually with a Girl Friend or 2 by my side. Grocery Stores are usually tricky places The first time was at our local casino.  We were headed to the bar when one of the ladies with me (Sarah) stopped in her tracks and turned to me, blocking the aisle.  She had seen a couple we both knew and positioned herself between me and them until they passed. (Had they seen her, I’m sure they would have approached us, but thankfully they didn’t)  "Galentines Day" 2017 The exact same incident took place at a restaurant, this time with 3 GF’s, and watchful Sarah stepped in and ran interference again. (She is SO protective of Julie!)  Mer...
