Living Up To The Name

Image
Since this blog is called "Julie - Out And About", I thought I'd better get out and about more.  Or else I'm going to run out of material pretty quick! Well, today I was presented with just such an opportunity.   Due to plans being shifted, I ended up with the entire day to myself.  I decided to take advantage of the two major plus factors of the day - free time, and warm(er) weather.  (It's been rather chilly lately - almost as if we bypassed autumn and flew right into winter) So I got dressed in a very cute outfit (if I do say so myself) and hit the neighborhood shops. Started out like this - learned my lesson After deciding the skirt and Mary Jane shoes were more cute than functional, I  returned home and changed for a walk down by the river.  I'm not usually a "Nature Girl", but I enjoy reveling in God's Creation every now and then.  So I dressed for the experience . . .  . . . and headed out! The river walk was qu...

Revel In All Victories - Both Large And Small

Image
It's easy to post about big events - like my recent nights out (http://juliemshaw.blogspot.com/2017/11/really-out-and-pretty-about.html), but we should celebrate the small victories as well. Last Thursday I walked down to Linda's house and had coffee.  A rather simple and non-impressive statement.  But it is just as important as any other.   Outfit for the day Time was when just walking out the door would be considered a MAJOR accomplishment.  Now I can write "I went out for coffee and I did not have a major panic attack."  Me likey. Ahh, Fresh Air! Here's to many more adventures - large and small. Stay safe and pretty, Sweeties!

Really Out And About

Image
Typing in nails - no easy task I had the occasion to travel out of town on business for 5 days and of course packed plenty of pretty things for a night or two of dining or hitting the outlet malls.  I did both. This is a small coastal Washington town that I frequently visit on business, and this time I was determined to actually spend some pretty time out with people.  Since I know no one here (other than the folk I do business with) I am relegated to shopping and dining alone.  In the past, this has made me VERY apprehensive about going out.  But armed with the new found confidence and self determination that has been instilled in me by my Dear Sister Friends (you know who you are!) (YES - it's Sarah and Linda!!!) I made a plan and followed through. After checking in at the hotel, I got pretty. This town has two LARGE outlet malls, so I started there.  Into the Hanes Store looking for a long line bra - and not my usual "sneak in and look around, t...

Change of plans and change of clothes

Image
The plan had been to meet up with my Sister Friend Linda today for a coffee date.  However, this time of year being what it IS in the Pacific Northwest, she's not feeling well today.  Which means I have no other alternative than to CLEAN THE HOUSE!!! Trying to look as pretty as possible I try to keep a clean house, but sometimes that simply means making sure I have fresh panties in the drawer and there's nothing crunchy on the kitchen floor.  Today I took the change of plan news as a much needed opportunity.  You know what they say -- "When Life hands you lemons --- RUN, because Life doesn't have hands!!!" Scrubbing the bathroom floor has been on the "I've go to get to that soon" list for far too long, so that was priority number 1 --- after I got the bedsheets into the wash and loaded and started the dishwasher.  And fed the goldfish. And let the cat out.  Let's face it -- NO ONE likes to clean the loo!  I try to make it interesting by...

Home Improvement (arr arr arr!*)

Image
In redecorating the bedroom, I acquired a wonderful piece of new furniture. (well, new to ME, that is) Comfy Chaise It fit perfectly into the window alcove, which makes it perfect for reading, or just cuddling with the cat. Perfect fit There's only one minor thing wrong with it . . .  Waaaaaayyy too comfortable!  (Not that there's anything wrong with that - giggle)  But then that's what bedroom furniture SHOULD be, right??? That, and it's hard to get in and out of in a skirt and remain ladylike. Stay safe and pretty (and comfy), Sweeties. (*remember Tim Allen's HOME IMPROVEMENT?)

Dinner And An Eclipse

Image
Friends are people who enjoy getting together just to get together.  A nice meal, good wine - those are extras.  When friends get together and share what's been going on in their lives - the ups AND the downs - and they all are genuinely concerned about and for one another, THAT is friendship. Sunday night I invited Sarah and Linda over for a home cooked Chinese meal.  It had been a month or more since we'd been together, so we had a bit of catching up to do.   Sarah brought the wine And Linda brought the cheesecake We enjoyed a nice Chicken Stir Fry meal (even if I do say so myself! ~~giggle~~) and lots of girl talk.  We talked together, ate together, and prayed together. All in all, a WONDERFUL evening that ended too soon. (Unfortunately, the effects of the wine and cheesecake DIDN'T end too soon.) The next morning was Aug 21st - Eclipse Day.  I busied myself around the house while waiting for the event. Here in Spokane we experienced ...

I'm Hooked, And So Is My Bra

Dictionary.com defines Addiction as - " the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice, or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, to such an extent that its cessation causes serve trauma ." Welcome to the world of a cross dresser.  You get that first small sip, and you want a taste.  You get a little more of a taste, and you want a mouthful.  After a couple of mouthfuls you want dinner! And on it goes.   My experience last month (see SISTER FRIENDS  http://juliemshaw.blogspot.com/2017/07/sister-friends.html - and it's sequel entry, SISTER FRIENDS DAY 4 (a very long day)   http://juliemshaw.blogspot.com/2017/07/sister-friends-day-4-very-long-day.html ) was heavenly.  Spending a whole week as Julie and sharing it with two wonderful and supportive ladies put me over the moon.   But now I feel like I've had the 5 course dinner, and I want the All-You-Can-Eat Buffet. I'm hard pressed to say ...
